It was an honour to be a Brocket Hall Wedding Photographer at this stunning venue. And what can I say about this completely amazing couple? I think if you ask every single one of the incredible vendors who worked on this wedding, they will ALL agree with me – these two lovely people are the absolute best! When you get kind, respectful clients like these who also happen to have impeccable taste and are completely in love…magic happens. It’s that simple.

The couple took inspiration for their wedding from the setting of Stuart’s surprise proposal to Susie in one of the great, romantic cities – Paris. Subtle Parisian chic was mixed with pure English glamour at the grand country house, Brocket Hall. The stunning luxury wedding venue with it’s acres of sprawling landscaped grounds complete with a lake and a Palladian stone bridge, formed the perfect setting for Susie and Stuart’s sumptuous wedding day. The couple immediately fell in love with it’s beautiful chandeliers and ceiling murals but felt there was an intimacy to the venue too.
Susie looked absolutely stunning in a beaded, champagne coloured Jenny Packham gown with her maids in deep aubergine Jim Hjelm dresses. She was coiffed to perfection by the uber talented Severin Hubert of the Hepburn collection and wore a hair piece by Chanel. Her makeup was done by the award-winning Sarah Brock, and killer gold heels by none other than Jimmy Choo completed the look. Later when it got chilly, Susie slipped on a glamorous feather shrug also by Jenny Packham. The groom looked dashing in black tie by Stuart Lamprell, Mayfair and shoes by Gucci.
London florist extraordinaire Jamie Aston worked to a vintage Parisian palette of pinks, metallics and creams with flowers displayed in mismatched antique pots and large silver vases. Vintage postcards showing landmarks in Paris were used to name the tables and gold spray-painted mini animals were given to each guest to symbolise donations made on their behalf by the couple to the World Wildlife Fund.
These two certainly know how to throw a good party! After the main course, pianist Steve Christie played theme tunes for a light-hearted quizz which caused quite a lot of laughter and a bit of harmless competition between tables. Later, the party really got going with the main man Matt Maurice (Discotheque Couture) on the decks and a live percussionist performing alongside. There was a band too, The Honeymooners, so that there was something for everyone and guaranteed way to a packed dancefloor. A last little detail that the guests absolutely loved were ‘Xylobands‘ provided by The Events Factory – these are LED radio controlled wrist bands that can be programmed to create a vast array of stunning visual effects. Guests were delighted as the lighting created by their own wrist bands changed and pulsed to the music, absolutely spectacular. All of Susie and Stuart’s amazing day was captured on video by the talented Francis and Beccy of Reellovefilms.
