If you’re looking for an engagement photographer – you’ve found her (me ofcourse)! Xunyu and Anthony were visiting London from Singapore. They were searching for someone to capture some natural photos of them whilst on holiday. Luckily I had photographed Xunyu’s good friend and work colleague Shengjie and his fiancé Mei Ling not long before on a London pre-wedding shoot. They very kindly recommended me to this sweet couple who were an absolute pleasure to work with.
Xunyu really wanted that ‘London feel’ in the photos, but not obviously so. She wanted to avoid the busy landmarks and tourist sights for something a bit more sophisticated. I immediately thought of the pretty streets around Belgravia. The classic London townhouses, the pretty little boutiques and the elegant colonnades of Eton Square were an ideal ‘London-esque’ backdrop.
We first met for cake (it’s always better when it starts with cake!) at pastel-pretty Peggy Porschen Cakes. If you’re ever in need of the perfect cupcake, beautiful macarons ideal for gifting (or even better for devouring yourself), or the prettiest sugar flower wedding cakes, then Peggy Porschen is your lady. For wedding cake commissions, she does an in-depth personal consultation to find out all about your big day. She then sets out to create a perfect design and combination of flavours unique to you!
We fuelled ourselves with enough cake to impress even Marie Antoinette, and washed it down with pots of delicious tea. We then went for a wander around the streets of Belgravia. We stopped in cobbled mews, on pretty doorsteps and peered in the windows of art galleries and flowers shops (including one of my favourite London florists Wild at Heart by Nikki Tibbles). We chatted about the couple’s upcoming Singapore wedding and the huge banquets to come! It was a perfect summer’s afternoon and a complete pleasure being this lovely couple’s engagement photographer.
