It was a privilege to photograph this elegant Danesfield House wedding. Melanie and Simon contacted me more than a year before their big day. Mel and I soon discovered we both had an ‘African connection’! She was born and raised in South Africa (and me close by in Zambia!). The stunning venue Danesfield House somehow reminded me of the colonial-style wineries of the Cape and evoked that ‘South-African’ feel, tucked away in the English countryside.
The spectacular riverside wedding Venue, Danesfield House, was the perfect backdrop for Mel and Simon’s intimate wedding day. This luxury wedding venue in Marlow has stunning views out over Buckinghamshire and the river Thames. Mel chose a romantic pink theme to run through the wedding from her florals to her bridesmaid’s dresses. The Versailles Suite at Danesfield House was a perfect fairy-tale room for the wedding banquet. It evoked the gold and pink of it’s namesake Palace of Versailles with elegant chandeliers, high ceilings and mirrors.
Mel looked amazing in a figure-hugging wedding dress by Justin Alexander from the bridal boutique, The Harrogate Wedding Lounge. Her stunning engagement ring came from Ingle & Rhode. Her beautiful pearl and diamond wedding accessories were from Pure Couture. A simple white cake with white decorations was created by Cakes by Cynthia and invites were designed by Ivy Ellen. White wedding shoes with delicate pleats were by Rainbow Bridal Shoes. The pink, floor-length bridesmaids’ Dresses came from Maids to measure. An abundance of pink roses in every shade by floral designer Sue Barton Flowers adorned the church alter, Mel’s bouquet and tall table arrangements in the Versailles Suite. Mel’s makeup and hair was by Shell Sullivan. The dapper groom’s attire came from Country House Menswear .
Later, the party moved on to the lawn with all lighting and a large marquee provided by CHI Hospitality. This time I didn’t stay on for the post-meal festivities but I hear the The Brightsparks band really got the party going! I really loved photographing this Danesfield House wedding!
